These faces are popping up all over the arting world. Cool projects can be seen in
issues of Expressions and Somerset Studio.
The molds are made by hand using found pieces including vintage
jewelry, buttons, statues, and carved pieces from Bali . I use a super elastic type of clay.
This material is durable and gives a good, clean impression and will last
a long time. It will not break if you drop it on the floor.
I have
tried other molding compounds and I can say that these molds have the some
of the best fine detail reproduction available. You will need to use a
release with these molds. My favorite is powdered pigments also called
Pearl Ex or Powdered Pearls. You can also use talc, cornstarch or just a spritz of

These are great for making your own face cabochons to use
on art dolls, beadwork and mixed media projects. Feel free to
create, trade, swap or barter your newly created faces but please do not
offer them for re-sale.
